JOB DESCRIPTION
- Identify key people, places, events, and developments related to the Church
in the Asia and Asia North Areas. - Lead efforts to collect and preserve historically significant records (e.g., oral
histories, photographs, journals, etc.). - Train and direct a network of volunteers to carry out Church History
Department priorities & initiatives. - Provide information and support to Area Presidencies and Area Office staff,
contribute to area initiatives, develop plans and budgets, and actively
participate in area committees. - Consult with Area Office personnel and other headquarters departments to
share Church history through websites, publications, exhibits, historic
markers, and anniversary events.
REQUIREMENTS
- Master's degree OR equivalent experience in business management, history,
library and archival studies, anthropology, religious studies, or other related
fields. - 8-10 years of professional experience managing people and working crossfunctionally
with demonstrated abilities to teach, motivate, and mentor a
volunteer workforce. Transnational experience desired. - Ability to thrive in collaborative situations, resolve difficult issues in a
professional manner, perceive and analyze situations accurately, and meet
objectives under strict deadlines. - Proven high level interpersonal skills with the ability to engage appropriately
with senior level ecclesiastical and professional leaders. - Knowledge of Church history in the Asia and Asia North Areas and broad
understanding of general Church history, including proven research skills. - Strong oral & written communication skills in English. Knowledge of Asian
languages desired.
